Lauren + Douglas at Blockhouse
Lauren and Douglas’s wedding at Blockhouse was everything we love about a Portland fall day. The colors were showing off, the air had that perfect crisp edge, and the whole space felt warm and inviting. Their first look was especially sweet, one of those quiet moments that set the tone for the rest of the day.
They wove so many personal details into the celebration. Douglas walked down the aisle to “Concerning Hobbits” from Lord of the Rings, and later took incredible photos with his groomsmen in full Lord of the Rings cloaks, which was such a fun and unexpected touch. One of our favorites was the wishing tree from Pomarius Nursery, where guests wrote notes and hung them like ornaments. Since the wedding fell on Día de los Muertos, they also created a beautiful ofrenda to honor their heritage.
As the night wrapped up, everyone gathered for a sparkler sendoff, lighting up the end of an already incredible day. With meaningful traditions, playful details, and a full event flow, day-of coordination helped keep everything running smoothly so Lauren and Douglas could stay present and soak it all in. A perfect fall wedding at Blockhouse.
